"Our boy Rex has never really been food motivated, until we tried Pooches Pantry! He loves them and because they're so healthy and made from just real protein and veg, it doesn't matter how many he has."

Jen & Rex · Portarlington - Maltese x

"My dog Zoe absolutely loves these treats. There is such a quality and care behind these products - all made with clean ingredients and no nasty fillers. Made with love
Our why

Born from one stubborn fussy eater.

When our poodle Alfie wouldn't touch anything store-bought, we started cutting and dehydrating treats ourselves. Friends asked. Their dogs asked. Pooches Pantry was born - built on the rule that goes in our own dogs goes in yours.

The science

Why protein + veg matters

One protein, one veg, slow-dehydrated. Functional nutrition, not novelty.

Gut

Microbiome support

Lean proteins help maintain a healthy gut without inflammatory fillers.

Joints

Collagen + glucosamine

Bone broth delivers naturally-occurring joint nutrients no powder can match.

Allergies

Novel proteins

Kangaroo is unfamiliar to most immune systems - ideal for sensitive dogs.

Veg

Why we add veg

Pumpkin, sweet potato and carrot bring fibre, beta-carotene and slow-release energy that meat alone can't. Not filler - functional nutrition in every bite.

Common questions

Everything you'd want to know

If we missed something, send us a note - we'll get back to you.

What's actually in a Pooches Pantry treat?

Every treat is made from one simple protein and one simple veg. That's it - no fillers, preservatives, grains, additives, or artificial ingredients. What's on the label is what's in the pouch.

Why do you include vegetables?

Veg isn't a filler - it's functional nutrition. Pumpkin brings soluble fibre for gut regulation and beta-carotene for eye and immune health. Sweet potato adds slow-release complex carbs, Vitamin A, B6 and magnesium for active dogs. Carrot delivers beta-carotene, Vitamin K, fibre and natural sweetness fussy dogs love.

One simple protein plus one simple veg is a more complete bite than protein alone - and still nothing else added.

What's the protein-to-vegetable ratio?

Every treat is approximately 65% protein and 35% vegetable by weight. Enough veg to deliver meaningful fibre, vitamins and gut-friendly nutrition - not a sprinkle for marketing - while keeping the protein dominant so it's still a substantial reward your dog actually wants.

Are your products made in small batches?

Absolutely. All Pooches Pantry products - including our dehydrated treats and bone broth - are handcrafted in small batches to ensure freshness, quality, and consistency.

Where are your ingredients sourced?

We use simple protein and simple vegetables sourced from trusted Australian suppliers - the same supply chain as your local butcher and greengrocer.

How are your treats made?

Our treats are hand-prepared and slow dehydrated in small weekly batches at low temperatures to preserve nutrition, flavour, and natural goodness.

How is your bone broth made?

Slow-cooked for 24 hours in small batches using fresh Australian grass-fed bones, organic apple cider vinegar (to draw the collagen and minerals from the bones), zucchini, carrot and parsley - no fillers, preservatives, salt or onion.

Every batch is then hand-strained, chilled in the fridge for several hours, and the solid fat cap is lifted off by hand before pouching. That extra day of work is why our broth pours rich and clear - naturally lower in fat than a typical bone broth, and gentler on fussy tummies.

Why small batch?

Small batch production means fresher products, better quality control, and food made with genuine care - never mass-produced or sitting on shelves.

Are your treats suitable for all dogs?

Our products are designed for most dogs, but always supervise your pet and introduce new proteins gradually, especially if they have sensitivities.

Can cats have these treats too?

Our protein is cat-safe, but our treats also include pumpkin and sweet potato - cats are obligate carnivores and don't really need veg. A small taste won't harm a cat, but our treats are formulated for dogs, not cats.

How should I store treats?

Keep treats sealed in a cool, dry place. We recommend the fridge for up to 4 weeks, or the pantry for up to 2 weeks.

How should I store bone broth?

Keep refrigerated immediately and use within 5 days, or freeze in ice blocks and use as needed.

Do you offer shipping?

Dehydrated treats can be shipped Australia-wide.

Our small-batch fresh bone broth is currently local pickup only.

How much should I feed per day?

Every dog is different - it depends on your dog's weight, exercise level and overall diet. As a guide, treats should make up no more than 10% of daily calorie intake.

Adding vegetables doesn't change the daily limit - if anything, our protein + veg recipes are slightly lower in calories than pure-protein treats. Pumpkin, carrot and sweet potato add nutrition without piling on calories.

The simplest rule we use ourselves: watch output vs input. If your dog's tummy or stools change, ease back. Every dog is different - always supervise treat time.

Why choose Pooches Pantry?

Because every treat is one simple protein and one simple veg. No fillers, no shortcuts. Hand-made in our Melbourne kitchen by people who feed it to their own dogs first.
